There was some good news to spread around the networks for Thursday night, with both American Idol and The Office climbing in the ratings. ABC’s Scandal also hit a series high. But in the end, The Big Bang Theory was the night’s top show.
CBS averaged 12.1 million viewers and a 2.7 18-49 rating, according to The Wrap. Big Bang was a bit down from the week before, but it still scored 15.7 million viewers and a 4.6 18-49 rating, making it the most-watched and highest-rated show of the night. Two and a Half Men had 12.6 million viewers and a 3.4 key demo rating for its season finale, while Person of Interest’s season ended with 13 million viewers and a 2.4 18-49 rating. Elementary dropped to 9.1 million viewers and a 1.8 key demo rating.
Fox came in second with 8.64 million viewers and a 2.4 18-49 rating. Idol’s results show had 11.2 million viewers and a 2.8 18-49 rating. That was actually up 12 percent from last week’s ratings, notes Deadline. Glee ended the night up with just over 6 million viewers and a 2.1 rating.
ABC had 7.3 million viewers and a 2.4 18-49 rating. Wipeout kicked off its season with 4.32 million viewers and a 1.2 18-49 rating, reports HitFix. Grey’s Anatomy had 8.6 million viewers and a 2.9 18-49 rating, while Scandal had a huge night with 8.89 million viewers and a 3.2 18-49 rating. That’s the best the show has ever had and it won the 10 p.m. hour easily.
NBC took fourth place with 3.28 million viewers and a 1.5 18-49 rating. Community’s (series?) finale had 3.14 million viewers and a 1.3 18-49 rating. After an Office repeat, another hour-long Office had 4.41 million viewers and a 2.3 18-49 rating, jumping 28 percent. Next week is the series finale, plus a special retrospective. Hannibal had just 2.7 million viewers and a 1.1 18-49 rating.
Over at The CW, Vampire Diaries had a 0.9 18-49 rating and 2.15 million viewers. Beauty & The Beast had 1.29 million viewers and a 0.5 18-49 rating.
