4. Old Man Boots
One of the showstoppers of the film was Boots aka Nate Robinson. Boots had like two lines that I can remember, but it was what he did that made him endearing, funny, and quite the show on the court.

When Boots is first seen, he’s in a nursing home in a wheelchair and his old team comes to rescue him while also restoring the basketball fire into his legs again. Boots and his team have a touching moment when Uncle Drew gifts him his old converse “working boots” that Boots always wore back in the day. When Drew gave him those, he laced them up and stood for the first time in a long time—evidence by his granddaughter's shock in seeing him stand again.
He also was the first to bust a move in the club to show the young cats the OGs have moves too. And when the team began to play, he displayed his high-flying athleticism and old-man sizzle with the rock. He had this Fredrick Douglas hairdo and he hilariously beat Preacher in the back of Uncle Drew’s van.
Boots was quiet, but his character performance made you forget about his lack of lines.
