7. First Reformed
If the Academy Awards were being held tomorrow, I’d place money on the fact that First Reformed gets nominated for Best Picture. We’ll see if that prediction stands throughout the next six months, as we’re about to get a whole lot of other movies looking to qualify as well, but First Reformed is still pretty spectacular. Incredibly challenging and disturbing, yes, but also spectacular.
