Anthony Bourdain born June 25, 1956, had first become an executive chef at Brasserie Les Halles. Then he got published, Don’t Read Before Eating This in The New Yorker which was a hit in 1997. Bourdain then landed huge culinary projects, one after another, such as the shows Cook’s Tour and Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations. He also authored many books like  Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly.

Although in the current moment you probably know Bourdain from CNN's Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown, a cosmopolitan travel food guide of rituals around the world. The show snagged four Emmys, with three wins in a row from 2013-15 for Outstanding Informational Series or Special.

Unfortunately, he lost his battle to depression as he committed suicide in his hotel room in France on June 8, 2018.

Rose McGowan wrote in an open letter published, after being asked by Asia Argento that, “I know before Anthony died he reached out for help, and yet he did not take the doctor’s advice."

In addition she wrote, “Anthony was open with his demons, he even wrote a book about them,” and she also wrote a statement that Argento told her, which was, “Anthony told a mutual friend, ‘He’s never met anyone who wanted to die more than him,’" according to People.

Bourdain also had struggled with an opioid addiction, and he even said to a therapist while filming an episode of Parts Unknown in Argentina that,  “I will find myself in an airport, for instance, and I’ll order an airport hamburger … but it’s not a good one. Suddenly I look at the hamburger and I find myself in a spiral of depression that can last for days,” according to cheatsheet.com
