Halle Berry
Halle Berry not only has been Storm and gave an Oscar-winning performance in Monsterball in 2001, while also playing various other hits like Swordfish, she too has faced depression and suicide. After her 1997 divorce with ex-husband David Justice, baseball star she attempted to commit suicide by leaving her engine running while in her garage.
Berry stated in the 2007 interview with Parade, “I was sitting in my car, and I knew the gas was coming when I had an image of my mother finding me. She sacrificed so much for her children, and to end my life would be an incredibly selfish thing to do."
She also admitted, “My sense of worth was so low. I had to reprogram myself to see the good in me. Because someone didn’t love me didn’t mean I was unlovable. I promised myself I would never be a coward again."
Her second marriage to singer Eric Bennet wasn't everything she hoped for either from 2001 to 2005.
“We were in sex rehab after one year. I wish I had left then, but I was putting everyone’s needs before mine. If I hadn’t gone through the first breakup and made that promise to myself, this would have leveled me. I would have walked into moving traffic.”
Halle Berry worked through her depression, working within therapy and counseling and took back her life, according to Reuters.com.
