4. The African HiPipo Music Awards named Kiwanuka the Best Global Act last year.
Kiwanuka was awarded Best Global Act at last year's annual HiPipo Music Awards. This award show acknowledges musical artistic excellence in Uganda and East Africa. The award itself is especially impactful for Kiwanuka as he is the son of Ugandan immigrants who had escaped the Amin regime in the 1970s.
