Sessue Hayakawa
Sessue Hayakawa was born in 1889 in Japan and became the first Asian to be nominated for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for the film Bridge on the River Kwai. Hayakawa has appeared in over 100 movies, starting as a silent actor and working up until his death in 1973.
