Rachel is a television host, writer, and activist in the LGBT community. She was the first openly gay anchor to host a primetime news program. She is best known as the host of The Rachel Maddow Show, and in an interview with Glamour, she describes her purpose as a host, "I really believe in trying to increase the amount of useful information in the world and in being accurate in the sense that you can take what I say to the bank, even if you disagree with me."
