4. Mom issues on both sides
When Toby told Rebecca that he wants her to like him, but he’s Team Kate for life, that was a good way to win over someone as loving as Rebecca. But Kate has a complicated relationship with her mom. She seems threatened by her mom’s beauty and talent, but still loves her. Toby’s mom is a staunch Catholic who isn’t big on the living together thing. So, while they need to work out their issues with their moms on their own first, this would be a great topic to cover with their priest or couples counselor.
