4. Insidious: Chapter 2 (2013)
Wan’s Insidious (2010) is another one of my favorite horror movies of all time, one I think is massively underrated. Yeah people like it and all, but seeing how unique and fun as Insidious is, I still don’t think it gets the proper credit it deserves.
Insidious: Chapter 2 is right up there with the first one. While Chapter 2 may not have as many authentic scares as the original, the story is remarkably well written and further advances the Insidious lore. Diving into the backstory of Patrick Wilson's character and the old woman who is now haunting him, Insidious 2 earns a place this high on the list through it's terrifying sequences (especially those in the abandoned hospital) and well-defined characters.
