The Purge: Anarchy is one of those extremely rare examples where the sequel isn’t just good, but actually better than the original.
While The Purge introduced interesting ideas and a cool premise, it never really capitalized on any of it and settled on becoming a generic home invasion thriller. In The Purge: Anarchy we actually get to see what’s happening in the world, turning the franchise into a cool Punisher-like thriller as we watch Frank Grillo navigate the streets in a country where every crime is made legal for one night.
