When Erin (Barrymore) meets Garrett (Long), she only has six weeks left until her internship in New York is over and she goes back home to San Francisco. This puts a termination date on their relationship, which is fine with both of them, until it blossoms into something more than a six-week fling. They agree to keep the relationship going, only on opposite coast. But, the distance wears on them and they are forced to make a decision that will make or break their relationship.
