Denzel Washington
Okay, we are aware that Washington scored a nomination for Best Lead Actor for his film Fences, which also received a Best Picture nod. Yet, he was overlooked for his role as the director of Fences. If the film gets a Best Picture nomination, shouldn't that automatically give the director a shot at a Best Director nomination? Especially if it's Denzel Washington!
