Rockford Files and Magnum P.I.
It would be difficult to imagine The Rockford Files without James Garner, who passed away in 2014, but having a handsome, middle-aged rogue detective take over the reigns may be fun. Just think a beach, a great muscle car, interesting cases and some romance. Oh, wait, that sounds like Magnum P.I. too. While these are very different, yet popular shows with a similar theme, a beachy setting and the leading men were great-looking, Rockford was a reluctant hero, while Tom Selleck’s Magnum was usually a bit cooler. Let’s bring one or both of these characters back into prime time.
