This isn’t a want, it is a need. With this crazy election cycle, people will need an alternate political universe where most people on either side of the political aisle mean well, are competent, have honor, are smart and have a sense of humor. In season three, episode 15, called "Hartsfield’s Landing," President Bartlet (Martin Sheen) made a prediction that Sam Seaborne (Rob Lowe) would one day run for president. Enough time has passed that that could be a possibility.
Some characters could be new and other favorites could return for good or at least for a visit. Upon the series end, Sam was engaged and was Deputy Chief of Staff. He could have done well, and may have won the White House, but having him be a widower with kids could make returns of former love interests Mallory O’Brian (Allison Smith), Ainsley Hayes (Emily Procter) or former call girl Laurie (Lisa Edelstein) interesting.
