3. Being Geillis’ secret lover
Geillis has her air of mystery, but she seems to know exactly what she was doing when it came to her affair with Dougal. She called him her lover, and established him as the father of her baby, but she still didn’t call upon him to save her during the witch trial. Colum was clear that he meant to go after Geillis, but maybe as an act of good will, claimed to have placed the baby in a good home after the fact. He was clear in his direction to not keep Dougal abreast of the situation, and Dougal didn’t seem to look back.
