Selecting Anne Hathaway to play Mia in The Princess Diaries was an inspired move. Casting directors Donna Morag, Marcia Ross and Gail Goldberg probably own some of the credit too, but not everyone has the ability to spot a star and cast a relatively unknown person for an important, career-launching role.
