7. The Centuries Trilogy by Ken Follett

The Centuries Trilogy is a historical fiction series that follows five families in five different countries over the course of a century. Throughout the series, the families and generations intertwine, both professionally and personally. Book 1, Fall of Giants takes place before and during World War I. Book 2, Winter of the World is about World War II. Book 3 covers the Cold War from 1947-1993. The series would have to be made into at least three movies (it could also be a TV mini-series). We already know that Follett’s work is just as good on screen since both Pillars of the Earth and World Without End were made into TV mini-series.
