1. The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton

A little girl is found wandering the docks of an Australian port in 1913. She doesn’t remember who she is, or why she’s in Australia. Years later the little girl’s great-granddaughter discovers she has inherited a mysterious cottage in England and starts piecing together how the little girl got to Australia all of those years ago. The landscapes described in the book would look exquisite with the right cinematography.
