2. Stefan and Caroline
After Elena left Stefan for his brother, he was wounded and we wondered if he’d ever find his way again. Along came Caroline. They were best friends that evolved into the kind of lovers we all aspire to be. When Stefan left her to let her find happiness, it broke our hearts.
