Top 10 new release movies to watch this Mother's Day

3. Cinderella

After the success of Alice in Wonderland and Maleficent, Disney continues turning their classic fairy tales into live-action extravaganzas with Cinderella, directed by Kenneth Branagh (Hamlet). You already know the story, and although Cinderella doesn't bring anything particularly revolutionary to the table, it's still an incredibly effective rendition of the classic tale, with magnificent leads in Lily James and Richard Madden. Really, there's no member of the family Cinderella won't appeal to, and if your mother showed you the original classic as a kid, this will be a nostalgic return. The film wears its heart on its sleeve and is as heartwarmingly earnest as anything the studio has produced. After all, that sense of sincere joy without a hint of cynicism is exactly what's so great about Disney.
