8. The Age of Adaline
Another good ol' fashion romance from Lee Toland Krieger (The Vicious Kind, Celeste and Jesse Forever), The Age of Adaline follows a 29-year-old woman (Blake Lively) who suddenly stops aging following an accident. Loving the pun in the title now? The film deals with the unfortunate side-effect immortality would come with: being forced to watch everyone you love grow old and die while you stay exactly the same. Maybe, the film suggests, the fact that our lives have a definitive stopping point only makes them that much more meaningful.
