4. Set up
The agents put together a fake crime scene and put it out on the police radio, knowing that the unsub is listening. Sure enough, the unsub goes through the neighborhood and finds a potential victim. But before he can go inside, an officer stops him but is shot before he can make an arrest. He survives and is able to tell Rossi and Reid some crucial details about the unsub’s car, including a descriptive hat.
