2009 MTV VMAs
Way back at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sept. 13, 2009, Taylor Swift met Kanye West for the first time, and it's safe to say she will never forget it. Swift had just won the VMA for Best Female Video for her song "You Belong With Me," beating West's good friend Beyonce, who was nominated for "Single Ladies."
Then it happened. Mid-acceptance speech, Mr. West stormed the stage, taking the mic and giving his own speech, "Yo Taylor, I'm really happy for you, I'll let you finish, but Beyonce has one of the greatest videos of all time. One of the best videos of all time!"
