Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance), 2014
Alejandro G. Inarritu’s Birdman seems destined to be a movie that will only be remembered for its (digitally created) one-take gimmick. However, the movie is much more than that and a fantastic exploration of what it means to be an actor and why people bare their souls out on stage. The one-take gimmick makes the movie feel like a trip through a stream of consciousness and there will always be more the angles and layers to discover with each viewing.
