Jimi Hendrix and The Jimi Hendrix Experience played a major role in music history where he and his group were predominantly rooted in the 60s lifestyle and psychedelic culture. Hendrix absolutely revolutionized the sound of music with his experimentation with guitar distortion and feedback, notably heard in songs such as “Purple Haze,” “The Wind Cries Mary,” and “Foxy Lady” mentioned by the RollingStone.
With many other hit songs, Jimi Hendrix led the way in the 60s psychedelic rock movement with his unique presence and guitar style as he has been seen playing the guitar behind his back and also with his teeth.
He was born on November 27, 1942, started his band in 1965, played the Woodstock music festival in 1969, and passed away on September 18, 1970.
Although, Hendrix has been said to have overdosed on a variety of drugs, the post-mortem examination report claims that his cause of death was asphyxiation due to an inhalation of vomit which can be found in Tony Brown’s book, Jimi Hendrix: The Final Days. Within his short music career, he had changed the way we listen to music. His music has held its ground in popularity to this day with little evidence of letting up.
