Freddie Mercury
Freddie Mercury, born Farrokh Bulsara in Zanzibar, Tanzania on September 5, 1946, joined the band Queen in 1971 after several other music projects including the group Ibex. Mercury, known for his lead role in the rock band Queen, died from the AIDS virus on November 24, 1991 stated in Mercury’s biography at Biography.com. Queen’s expansive musical library has been home to great musical hits such as “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “We are the Champions,” “Killer Queen,” “Somebody to Love,” and “Crazy Little Thing Called Love.”
More than Mercury’s huge contribution towards Queen’s success is his unique stage presence that brought Queen’s music to an entirely new level of popularity.
