Star Wars: The Force Awakens scores editing nomination
This is a real surprise because the Best Film Editing Oscar is such a big one for eventual Best Picture winners and nominees. Sure, Birdman was a diversion from the normal last year, but it’s still important. With Star Wars’ nomination here, it looked like it might pull off a Best Picture nomination. But it didn’t. The film’s only other nominations came in technical categories. John Williams was also nominated for its score.
