Is this the year for announcing wrong names ?
There were a few jokes running around during the event on Steve Harvey's account from when he fouled up by announcing the wrong name as winner in the Miss Universe pageant. Jamie Foxx was one of the jabbers, but it's all in good fun. However, the HFPA needed to be targeted too when it comes to wrong names. When the Golden Globe social media team announced nominations last month, they mistook America Ferrera for Gina Rodriguez. So Ferrera and Eva Longoria had a funny skit while at the podium.
Read their dialogue:
"Hi, I'm Eva Longoria, not Eva Mendes!"
"And hi, I'm America Ferrerra, not Gina Rodriguez!"
"And neither one of us is Rosario Dawson."
"Well said, Salma. "
"Thank you, Charo."
Maybe the writing was done by the Golden Globes team, whoever wrote it may have been trying to make fun of themselves for their mess up a month ago or so it seemed. While I was clapping, all I kept saying to the TV was, "Yass, ladies yasss."
