Cookies for everyone
I was nervous in the category of Best Actress in a TV Series, Drama because two of favorites were in the same category. I was rooting for both Taraji P. Henson for playing Cookie Lyon on Empire and Viola Davis for playing Annalese Keating in How to Get Away With Murder. Even though Davis didn't win, I wasn't disappointed because Henson did take the victory. When she was announced I literally screamed for Cookie.
Henson's moment was outstanding from start to finish. She had cookies that she was giving away as she was making her way to the stage. As she was stepping up the stage steps, she yelled, "Get off my train," which was very Cookie Esque. She made me smile and laugh with her speech. She had a touching speech that let people know she remembers where she's from and she is very humble. She thanked so many people. When she was being booted off the stage because the teleprompter stated for her to wrap it up, she yelled back in true Cookie fashion. “I waited 20 years for this. You gonna wait!”
