In the end, Hetty and Deeks have a discussion about the case that leads us to discovering what really happened with Boyle. It turns out Deeks did kill him in self defense of a prostitute that he would end up helping financially later on. He wonders if he can keep this from Kensi and Hetty makes a cryptic comment about it being easier to keep a secret when you’re alone. Whether this means she wants him to open up or something else is up to interpretation.
