5. Rachel Bloom, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend

On the CW's new romantic comedy show, Rachel Bloom plays Rebecca Bunch, a love-crazed woman who abandons an optimal job and life in New York to move to California to try to reconnect with Josh, whom she once had a fling when they were kids at summer camp. She is at once quite vocal and also in denial about her obsession with Josh. She's awkward, quirky, crazy, vulnerable and fierce. Bloom nails the ridiculousness of the character with her ceaseless energy and unabashed performance. She makes a could-be annoying character charming.

Oh and also, Rebecca breaks out into song several times throughout the show, so not only does Bloom display acting chops, but she also proves she's a good singer and dancer. And she's a writer on the show, so there's that. Wait, is there anything Bloom can't do?

Where else you may have seen/heard her: The film Bob vs. Society (2009), the shows BoJack Horseman (2014) and Robot Chicken (2012-15).

What's next: Crazy Ex-Girlfriend hasn't been great ratings-wise, but critics love the show so the network has given it at least an 18-episode season.
