8. Billie Lourd, Scream Queens
FOX's Scream Queens is Lourd's debut. Despite this and the fact that she's in an ensemble cast featuring several pop-culture heavy-hitters, including Jamie Lee Curtis, Nick Jonas and Ariana Grande, Lourd managed to be a memorable addition to the show, portraying the character of Chanel #3.
With her excellently-delivered dead-pan facial expressions and dry humor, Lourd hit the spot as the quieter of the minions of Chanel Oberlin (Emma Roberts), head of the maligned Kappa Kappa Tau sorority being targeted by a serial killer. Lourd successfully served as the softer complement to the show's campier, louder humor of Roberts' and Abigail Breslin's more obnoxious sorority-girl tropes, and she effortlessly portrayed the quirks that made Number 3 as ridiculous as the other characters, like her random, half-baked romantic interest in the out-and-proud lesbian sorority pledge Sam (Jeanna Han).
Perhaps Lourd's talent is owed to the fact that acting is in her blood — she's the daughter of actress Carrie Fisher and granddaughter of Debbie Reynolds — but either way Lourd's debut was a success and she's clearly not done.
What's next: She nabbed a minor role in another ensemble cast full of huge stars — a big screen film that happens to star her mother: Star Wars:The Force Awakens (her character is Rebel Lt. Connix).
