10. Stark Sands, Minority Report
This new FOX sci-fi show hasn't officially been cancelled yet, but the network reduced its episode number from 13 to 10 and ratings haven't been kind. Still, Sands has earned some praise for his role as Dash, one of three PreCogs — individuals who have the ability to see future murders (in the form of visions, while one counterpart gets names and information and the other "becomes" the person who'll be murdered). Despite having been manipulated by the government to help solve crimes before they happened and then being forced into hiding by those same people, Dash still wants to help others. He teams up with a D.C. detective to do it.
Sands is solid as a character who is eager to help others, tormented by his past and his ability, and torn between his desire to put his visions to good use and his brother/fellow PreCog's wishes for him to lay low. Sands conveys Dash's complex emotions and the hyper-intensity that comes with his "gift" with ease, and he excels as a likeable do-gooder.
Where else you may have seen him: A small role on Six Feet Under in 2002, a short-lived CBS police drama NYC 22 (2012) and the film Inside Llewyn Davis (2013).
What's next: Minority Report may be a sinking ship, but Sands is making the most of it with his talent and the fact that it's still a Steven Spielberg creation should be enough to set Sands on a good course.
