Prices to eat at Olive Garden, Ruby Tuesday in Times Square on New Year’s are insane

The prices for dinner at tourist traps in Times Square are already crazy, but the prices on New Year’s Eve are even more out of this world.

If you want to have dinner at Olive Garden on Dec. 31, it will cost you $400 a person... but at least you get to listen to a DJ and there’s an open bar. Unfortunately, as The New York Post points out, you don’t get unlimited breadsticks.

You also don’t get an unlimited view of the ball drop at midnight. The restaurant’s manager told the Post that you only get a “limited view.”

The view will be better from Bubba Gump Shrimp and the price reflects it. You have to pay $799 a person to eat there.

And even though you can’t possibly see the ball drop at all from Ruby Tuesday, it still costs $349 a person to eat there. If you have the cash for the Couple’s VIP table, you have to pay $1,699. (No, we didn’t put that comma in the wrong spot.)

The Huffington Post spoke to Jessica Parkin, who was at the Olive Garden’s 2014 celebration. She actually said it was worth it, even though you couldn’t see much of the festivities outside.

“From the Olive Garden you couldn't see the main stage or the ball drop, but around 11:40 p.m. we were taken through the back door to the Olive Garden and onto the streets in our own gated section where you could see the ball drop and be part of all the action,” Parkin said. “It was perfect.”

You can get a cheaper couples VIP package at the Buca di Beppo Italian restaurant for $999.
