Disney can’t take every trailer slot before screenings of Star Wars: The Force Awakens and 20th Century Fox grabbed one to plug X-Men: Apocalypse.
Producer/co-writer Simon Kinberg confirmed to Collider that the first trailer for Apocalypse will be attached to The Force Awakens. He said that, while it will technically be a teaser, it will actually be much longer than usual minute-and-a-half teasers.
“I can in fact confirm that information. Our first trailer will be on Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” Kindberg said. “It’s our first thing out there so it is somewhat of a teaser but it’s certainly longer than a minute and it has a ton of cool stuff in it.”
Collider also reported that Disney will, of course, have the first trailer for Captain America: Civil War attached to The Force Awakens.
Apocalypse is expected to be the end of the X-Men trilogy that started with First Class and continued with Days of Future Past. James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence and Michael Fassbender are all back, with Oscar Isaac, Olivia Munn, Sophie Turner and Kodi Smit-McPhee among the new stars.
The Force Awakens opens on Dec. 18. Apocalypse hits theaters on May 27, 2016.
