“Shake It Off” was the first single off of 1989. It shocked fans at first. This was such a different departure from Swift and was a complete pop sound. The days of country singles ended the moment “Shake it Off” was released. After listening to the song a few more times, it seemed as though Swift fans got on board and helped to make this one of the most successful albums of all time for the now pop superstar.
