Stephen Colbert pays tribute to France after terrorist attacks, has Acro Cats on ‘Late Show’ (Video)

While Stephen Colbert offered a hastily-prepared statement on the attacks in Paris on Friday, the Late Show host offered a better tribute to the people of France last night.

Colbert started last night’s episode with a list of the great things France has given the world and insisted that all the signs of solidarity with France around the world were a good thing. He also thought it was a bit weird that people on Twitter were watching Ratatouille (not a French film) in memory of the victims. But he’s ok with it.

“Anything that is an attempt at human connection in the world right now is positive,” Colbert said. “Did you get up this morning and not try to kill someone? Then you’re on the right side!”

Colbert had previously booked the “Amazing Acro Cats” - yes, acrobatic cats - and the Late Show team thought about cancelling on them. But they decided not to. After all, ISIS probably wouldn’t like Acro Cats.

“In fact, the only thing that they have in common with ISIS, is that they’re a bunch of pussies,” Colbert said.

And here’s the Acro Cats!
