Snoopy has joined the ranks of fictional characters to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The famous beagle got his star on Monday and is thankfully right next to his creator, the late Charles M. Schulz.
The ceremony was complete with a person dressed as Snoopy and fans were there to take pictures, notes The AFP. Snoopy received star No. 2,563.
Snoopy and the rest of the Peanuts gang will finally hit the big screen this weekend with 20th Century Fox’s The Peanuts Movie, which counts Bridesmaids director Paul Feig as one of its producers.
So far, the film has earned good reviews from critics and is 71 percent fresh on Rotten Tomatoes. Many have noted that the film is closer to the more familiar TV specials than Schulz’s original comic strips.
Other fictional characters with Hollywood Walk of Fame stars include Kermit the Frog, Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Shrek, Snow White and Bugs Bunny. Snoopy also joins the dog club, which already counts Lassie and Rin Tin Tin as members.
Now, where is Charlie Brown’s star?
