Jamie Foxx’s daughter, Corinne Foxx, named Miss Golden Globe 2016

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association has named Corinne Foxx, the daughter of Oscar winner Jamie Foxx, as Miss Golden Globe 2016.

Corinne, 19, is currently a senior at the University of Southern CAlifornia and was spotlighted in a campaign for The Icing accessory line. The HFPA announced her selection at the first 2016 Golden Globe Awards party at Ysabel West Hollywood.

“We are delighted to have Corinne Foxx continue the tradition and have her as our 2016 Miss Golden Globe,” HFPA President Lorenzo Soria said Tuesday. “Like her father, she leads a fine example of following her dreams and we can’t wait to see what she does next.”

“Throughout the years I’ve grown up watching my dad establish himself as a well-respected actor,” Corinne said. “I’m honored that HFPA has given me the opportunity to now share the same stage where he’s been recognized for some of his greatest accomplishments.”

Corinne’s famous father is an Oscar-winner for his role in Ray, which also earned him a Golden Globe. In 2005, he was also nominated for Golden Globes for his supporting role in Collateral and the 2004 TV movie Redemption: The Stan Tookie Williams Story. He is about to star in Edgar Wright’s new film, Baby Driver.

The Miss and Mister Golden Globe is a tradition that dates back to 1962 and helps recognize the next generation of Hollywood stars. Many of them have gone on to become stars in their own right, including Melanie Griffith, Laura Dern and Dakota Johnson. Last year’s Miss golden Globe was Greer Grammer, the daughter of Kelsey Grammer.

The 2016 Golden Globes are on Jan. 10 and air on NBC. Denzel Washington will receive the Cecil B. DeMille award.
