Quentin Tarantino has received a lot of backlash lately for comments he made about police officers at a protest in New York City. His own father even came out and said his son’s remarks were wrong, but now a famous face is in Tarantino’s corner.
USA Today noted that while on stage at The Hollywood Film Awards Sunday evening actor Jamie Foxx, who starred in Tarantino’s movie Django Unchained, publicly voiced his support for the director.
"Keep telling the truth and don't worry about none of the haters," Foxx said.
As we previously reported, Tarantino made controversial comments during a police brutality protest last month.
“When I see murders, I do not stand by … I have to call a murder a murder and I have to call the murderers the murderers,” he said.
In response to those remarks several police unions including the NYPD, LAPD, the Philadelphia union and New Jersey union, have started a boycott of Tarantino’s new movie The Hateful Eight.
Tarantino did not attend Sunday’s award show.
