Eddie Redmayne joins wizarding world in first ‘Fantastic Beasts’ photo

Eddie Redmayne’s wardrobe from Les Miserables is coming out of the closet. The first picture of the Oscar winner in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them has him wearing a costume that could have easily been used for the 2012 musical.

The image will appear on the cover of this week’s Entertainment Weekly and comes just as Warner Bros. is starting to ramp up promotion for the project. The studio just launched social media pages and a website. The film’s logo was also released this week.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is linked to the Harry Potter world and will be J.K. Rowling’s first produced original screenplay. It is set decades before Harry came onto the scene and is actually set in 1926 New York. Redmayne plays Newt Scamander, the author of the Hogwarts textbook the film gets his name form.

EW says that the photo shows Newt standing in the entrance of the Magical Congress of the United States of America, the U.S. version of the Ministry of Magic.

Other members of the cast include Colin Farrell, Katherine Waterston and Samantha Morton. It is being directed by David Yates, who helmed the last four Harry Potter movies and is currently working on Tarzan.

Fantastic Beasts opens on Nov. 18, 2016.
