Joe and Patty talk about her joining the task force, but even as she gives her qualifications, Joe is not an easy person to tackle. Patty asks Barry for advice, but he even admits he has not been able to crack his “No code.” In the end, Patty admits to Joe the reason she wants to join the task force is because a former metahuman, Mark Mardon, shot and killed her father during a robbery in the months before the particle accelerator blew up. She wants to help put the bad guy away.
