Like The African Queen, Wyler shot this film on location, but he didn’t have to deal with African wildlife and terrain - just the insanity of 1950s Rome. The headline of the film is Audrey Hepburn in her American film debut, which earned her Best Actress. It was also written by the blacklisted Dalton Trumbo, who won Best Screenplay under a pseudonym.
