Tamagotchi is a handheld digital pet that was first sold in Japan in 1996 before it came to the United States. The user takes care of their pet by feeding it, cleaning it, taking care of it when it is sick, and other tasks that are completed by the use of a few buttons. The pet goes through different stages of growth and has different features depending on the model. Since 2009, 44 different versions have been created.
