“Just an Old Fashioned Love Song” was written by Paul Williams, originally for the Carpenters, but offered to Three Dog Night when the Carpenters passed on it. The song appeared on the band’s 1971 album Harmony and was sung by lead vocalist Chuck Negron. The song reached #4 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was their first song to top the U.S. easy listening chart.
