Sorority girls take selfies at Diamondbacks game, announces get obsessed (Video)

Calling games for baseball teams out of playoff contention in September can get really boring, so you can’t blame the announcers for the Arizona Diamondbacks for getting a little obsessed with a group of Arizona sorority members who were equally obsessed with selfies.

During the fourth inning of the D-Backs’ game against the Colorado Rockies (who are also out of the playoffs by a long shot), announces Steve Berthiaume and Bob Brenly noticed the group of girls in the stands. They were all unwrapping churros or eating hot dogs while they were taking pictures of themselves eating. None of them were paying attention to the game.

“Selfie time!” the announcers said before going on a philosophical want about parenting in 2015 and the use of technology. When the batter hit a double, the announcers noticed that none of the girls even looked at the on-field action.

“Help us please!” one of the announcers said. “Somebody help us!”

For the record, the Diamondbacks did win 3-1, but the girls were probably too busy with their phones to notice. And since the Diamondbacks are 77-81, their Twitter page can actually celebrate selfies.
