While Lamar Odom began showing signs of improvement on Friday, the former basketball player will start a long journey of recovery before he is completely healthy.
Odom has been hospitalized since Oct. 13, when he was found unconscious at a legal brothel in Nevada. He was rushed to a hospital in Las Vegas, where he remained unresponsive for days. On Friday, he began showing signs of improvement and started breathing on his own. He continued making progress over the weekend.
In the meantime, TMZ is reporting that Odom’s doctors told his friends and family that he will spend months in rehabilitation and they aren’t certain what the permanent damage will be to Odom. The Los Angeles Daily News’ sources also say that Odom has already started physical therapy at the hospital.
Khloe Kardashian, Odom’s estranged wife, has been by his side during the ordeal. Although they signed divorce papers, they have yet to be approved by a judge, so the two are still legally married. Kardashian has vowed to stay with Odom during his rehab, TMZ claims.
After Odom finally started showing signs of progress, Kardashian’s sister Kim celebrated the news on Twitter.
