‘iZombie’ recap episode 204: ‘Even Cowgirls Get the Black and Blues’

Liv brings her guitar to perform at Lacey’s bar. Ravi comes to watch her. She performs her song about Matt and Lacey. Clive tries to call her, but it goes to voicemail. While Clive’s talking, a woman comes in to turn in something that her son found. Clive calls over another officer to take it. Clive leaves Liv a message saying he cut Rick loose and Matt’s alibi wasn’t solid. The buddy he was supposed to be with got a ticket that night, so they weren’t together. Matt is in the audience watching Liv sing about letting go.

Liv tells Ravi that she needs to go talk with Major. She leaves and Matt follows her to her car. He tells Liv that he enjoyed her song and he thinks that Lacey would have too. He says he really messed up with Lacey. He loved her. Liv says love isn’t always enough.

Major is watching the news about one of the zombies he murdered. He takes a dose of Utopium. The doorbell rings. It’s Liv who tells him that she’s always loved him, but she knows the dream is dead. She needs to let him go forever. He closes the door in her face. She opens it back up and asks him how he can be so cold. She says all the lies she told over the last year were to keep him safe. She says she knows he thinks she screwed up, but she did the best she could. Major says he keeps asking for space, but she’s always around. Liv leaves.

Major is high and playing video games. Ravi comes in and asks him where the dog is. The back door is wide open and the dog is missing. Major says he’ll come back. Ravi forces Major to get up and help him find Minor.

Blaine and his assistants open the coffin where they’ve been keeping Gabriel. He refuses to give them the Utopium recipe, saying he’ll die first. Blaine’s zombie henchman scratches Gabriel, turning him into a zombie. They lock him back in the coffin.

Peyton is talking to a new criminal about Mr. Boss. The camera turns and we see it’s Blaine. Blaine says he’ll talk if she gives him immunity for the crimes he’s going to admit to. Blaine gives her the setup of Mr. Boss’s organization and flirts with her.

Liv tells Peyton that she went off on Major. Peyton says he doesn’t seem like himself. Gilda comes in and heads straight for her room. Peyton says Liv should do a background check. She also tells Liv she met someone interesting at work that day that Liv would like.

Blaine opens Gabriel’s coffin and teases him with brains, trying to get him to talk. Gabriel says God is testing him. Blaine kicks him out of the house and tells him to come back when he has the answer.

In the office, Liv tells Clive she ran into Matt the night before. She says he was a gentleman. Clive’s colleague comes in and is congratulated by his peers. He tells Clive that the woman who came in last night had the gun from the convenience store murder. Her son found it in some bushes by Evergreen Manor. Clive realizes that it was ditched near Lacey’s house.

Ravi finds Minor by way of a lost pet message board. The dog was found wandering the park where his owner was kidnapped. Ravi attacks Major for being high all the time. He also yells at him for not telling him that Peyton was moving in.

Major goes to the skate park to score some more Utopium. The dealer recognizes him from when he did social work. He gives him the drugs on the house because he’s amused at the hypocrisy. As Major is walking away, he gets a text from Rita asking if he’s up.

Clive interviews the convenience store killer. He knows that the killer hid inside Lacey’s home. When she found him in her closet, he strangled her. The stockings on the floor are the same ones that he used in the robbery.

There’s a knock on Liv’s apartment door. It’s Major. He says he needs help. She hugs him and it turns into a make-out session.
