Aziz Ansari tries to make it in New York in Netflix’s ‘Master of None’ trailer (Video)

Comedian Aziz Ansari is returning to television after Parks and Recreation with Master of None, a new series for Netflix. The streaming service posted the first trailer this morning.

Master of None was first announced in April and was shot in New York. Ansari stars as an actor trying to be successful in the city while also finding the right girl. His girlfriend is played by former Saturday Night Live castmember Noel Wells and other members of the cast include H. Jon Benjamin, Ravi Patel, Eric Wareheim and Kelvin Yu.

The new show is scheduled for debut on Nov. 6. It was written by Ansari and Parks and Recreation veteran Alan Yang. James Ponsoldt (The Spectacular Now) directed the pilot.

Reviews for the series have already started to pop up. The Hollywood Reporter wrote that it is “A surprisingly creative, funny and sweet breakout for Aziz Ansari as he creates his own series for Netflix and busts out of the character actor limitations of the past, delivering a real gem.”
